Exercise trail

Birkenhead Park has a large array of outdoor exercise equipment!

These are a great way to stay in shape as your make your way around the park. They are each situated in a scenic, peaceful area where you are will be able to try out the equipment or incorporate them into your exercise routine. 

The equipment you can find around the park includes:

  • Pull up bars

  • Sit up benches

  • Step machines

Health Walks

Each week at the park we have organised health walks that cater to those want a gentler exercise routine .

The friendly group welcomes newcomers and is regularly receiving fresh walkers, all you need is comfortable walking shoes and a good attitude! The group walks in most weather conditions so make sure you're prepared if the rain comes in! 



The Health Walk Group meet each week at the Visitor Centre in the Park on Sundays and Mondays at 11:00am. Be sure to come down and join in !

British Military Fitness

British Military Fitness was founded in April 1999 by Major Robin Cope and Serjeant Harry Sowerby as an alternative form of group fitness training to gyms.

They recently have begun a class three times a week in Birkenhead Park they are very friendly and welcome new people all the time!

Regular Classes take place Monday, Wednesday at 19:00pm and Saturdays and 10:00am.

There is also a Beginners Class on Saturdays at 10:00am.
