The Witching Hour

Immerse yourself in spinning tales of alchemy and legend, brought to life with spellbinding theatre, magic and wonder. West to East, East to West, anchored in the North. From the magical Alleys of East Hull to the Witches Circle in Birkenhead. Take sanctuary in two enchanting parks and keep alive the memories of all that’s gone before.

The Witching Hour is a brand-new outdoor performance commissioned for Wirral and Hull – two amazing locations each using culture to breathe energy into place and connect communities. In 2019, Wirral is Liverpool City Region’s 2019 Borough of Culture, whilst Absolutely Cultured continues to build on the success of Hull UK City of Culture 2017. Designed to connect people and inspire imagination, the performance explores stories of magical mythical characters and childhood memories from Birkenhead Park and East Park in Hull. The Witching Hour will immerse audiences across the country in a unique and shared experience, weaving a story between the two locations. Keep an eye on our social media channels and imaginewirral.com for updates and further information about the event. The Witching Hour is free and no booking is required. The Witching Hour by Periplum Commissioned by Absolutely Cultured and Wirral Borough of Culture 2019 (Wirral Council) Produced by Absolutely Cultured
