Get Involved with Birkenhead Park

Birkenhead Park is the People’s Garden, welcoming visitors from all over the Wirral and beyond. Not only does the park belong to the people, but it’s also cared for by the people. As a much-loved place in the community, a dedicated group of volunteers support the park’s team in looking after it. If you want to make a difference to your park, there are plenty ways for you to get involved.

Volunteers

At around 140 acres in size, it takes a lot of work to keep the parklands looking good for our visitors. While we have a great team of gardeners and rangers, we also rely on our army of enthusiastic volunteers to look after the park and its heritage. There are always plenty of things to do, from day-to-day maintenance work, to welcoming visitors and preparing for major events. Whatever your background, we’d be delighted to find a way to put your skills and energy to use.

Schools and Groups

Birkenhead Park has been explored and used by generations of school kids and young people. We welcome pupils and students from all local schools and colleges to join our rangers in various indoor and outdoor activities, including our Forest School sessions that we run throughout the year. Our sessions offer children and teenagers a chance to interact with nature in practical and engaging ways.
